The ProFusion 16 is a clam shell shaped, all-fiber, light-weight kiln that is quick and convenient to use. The clam shell design allows for projects to be assembled on the base of the kiln. The ProFusion 16 can fuse in about 1.5 hours for small items. The all fiber design means most of the heat is absorbed by the glass and not the kiln. Cool down is also quick since the fiber does not absorb the heat like fire brick. The end result is that several firings may be accomplished in a single day.

The kiln has no shelf, but you can use fiber paper or kaiser lee board. If you use a clay shelf on posts, the depth is reduced and firing time will increase. You can fire glass as fast as the glass can take the heat. Firing thin pieces may take about 1 hour, but slumping may require more time and a rate of 300 degrees per hour to account for the thicker glass and the ceramic mold.

The ProFusion 16 kiln includes the Orton AF3P (Auto-Fire 3 Button Programmable) Controller. The AF3P can store up to 6 eight step user programs.

The ProFusion 16 includes 2" tall feet - designed for table top use.
