Fusible Glass Sheet
Manufactured for kiln-forming. Also suitable for stained glass, mosaic, and cold-working.

Upon firing, silver foil turns bronze where it is in contact with the glass. Expect variations in effects. Variations can result from different sources and thicknesses of silver, glass production runs, and heatwork, which includes firing times, temperatures, and multiple firings. The unfired sheet has a faint coral tint and a faint coral color may be evident in fired works.
For color development, Bullseye Glass recommends a 1 hour soak at 1225°F in the pre-rapid heat section portion of a firing cycle.
The item image tile illustrates firing silver foil uncapped on top of BE 1016 (left rectangle), and fired between Clear and BE 1016 layers with BE 1016 as the cap (right rectangle).
Bullseye also notes: When firing silver foil in the kiln, be aware that the silver reaction can travel across the glass surface and onto the kiln shelf, potentially affecting silver-sensitive glasses in one or more subsequent firings. This can happen even when new shelf release (paper or primer) is applied to the kiln shelf. When fired between layers, silver is generally more contained and less likely to affect the firing surface.
Alchemy Clear Transparent - Silver to Bronze Iridized
The rainbow iridescent coating generally acts as a resist, which prevents reactions. However, reactions may permeate and find greater contact through thinner sections of the irid coating (gold, silver) and minute fissures throughout. Bullseye reports observing no change in silver foil as well as subtle to strong reactions, which range from a variegated “antiqued“ light bronze effect to warmer bronze. Expect variation.
Bullseye Glass Company
Bullseye Glass Company is a manufacturer of colored glass for art and architecture with worldwide distribution and a strong commitment to research, education, and promoting glass art. Bullseye Glass was started in 1974 and is based in Portland, Oregon.
Fusible glasses manufactured by Bullseye are factory-tested for compatibility with each other and are labeled Bullseye Compatible.
We stock Bullseye’s Double Rolled (30) sheets which have a flatter surface than single-rolled sheets and are ideal for fusing. Thin Rolled (50) are half the thickness of standard glass (1.6 mm) and exceptionally easy to cut.
Ordering Information:
Bullseye Glass is priced by the pound. Average weight of a double rolled (3 mm) sheet is 8 pounds (3.7kg) per sheet. Thick-rolled (6 mm or 1/4") is 16 pounds (7kg) per sheet. Thin Rolled are half the thickness and average weight is 2.5 pounds (1 KG) per sheet. Tekta is sold by the square foot.
Bullseye glass bears a 4-digit base code and a 2-digit suffix. In addition, some include a final letter code. The first four digits indicate the base glass; the second two digits indicate surface treatment, profile or thickness.
