Expand your knowledge of kilnformed
glass in this workshop that will focus on texture and glass manipulation. This
two-day class is designed for beginners or for anyone who would like to refresh
their fusing skills.
In-class projects will include
texture tiles, handmade fiber-paper relief tiles, and textured glass tiles
accentuated with frit and mica powders.
Feature projects
and demonstrations will include how to rake molten glass and how to dam pieces
that exceed ¼ inch thicknesses, plus firing schedules for tack fusing, and how
to dam with fiber paper.
Additional demonstrations will show how to set up pot
melts and screen melts. A brief introduction to coldworking will explain the
significance in the fusing process, and how it will add value to your art glass
work.
